The first time we considered performing as a eurobrass quintet, the most pressing question we asked ourselves was, “Will it work?” Sure, we’d have fun playing as a quintet. But could we offer brass music of the same quality in a smaller ensemble? Could we combine that music with a message of hope in Jesus Christ in a shorter program? Could we experience the fellowship that is unique to eurobrass if we were only together on weekends and went back to our normal lives during the week?

As it turned out, yes. To all of it. Every time we’ve come together as eurobrass – das Quintett, we’ve experienced the hallmarks of eurobrass: high-quality brass music, spiritual depth, and fellowship within the ensemble. Our 2026 quintet season was no exception. As always, it was a great joy to make music with one another. In our group devotions, we spent time with the texts of the songs in our program, asking ourselves questions like, “What does this text tell us about God and our relationship with him? Where in scripture do we find similar ideas? How do these truths affect our lives?” Engaging with these texts in this way also influenced the way we performed these pieces. We wanted to share the things we had reminded ourselves of: that God, the mighty creator of the universe, also cares about us. That we can remain at Jesus’ side in this life and in eternity. That we’re looking forward to a future when we will stand before God’s throne with everyone who has ever believed and praise him. We hope that these truths stirred the hearts of our concert audiences just as they stirred ours.

After our concert in Hoffnungthal, we met a man who had just experienced his very first eurobrass concert. When he learned that eurobrass also includes a 12-piece ensemble, he responded with, “I can’t imagine that a concert with a 12-member ensemble would be as good as this one with five.” His words reminded us once again that yes, it really does work—that our quintet concerts also reflect the things that set eurobrass apart. We’re thankful for the opportunity to serve God as an ensemble, and we pray that our work as eurobrass – das Quintett bears fruit in God’s Kingdom.
